No more than a mouth ago, Bucharest was the centre of entrepreneurship and investment opportunities in Romania and Eastern Europe with the fifth edition of VentureConnect. We are more than happy to number the fifth pitching and networking session, but of course who is counting?

A special thanks goes to Allegro Group Romania and Post Privatization Foundation for endorsing this edition of VentureConnect. As with every VentureConnect meeting, we had 12 preselected startups pitching their businesses to investors from Romania and Eastern Europe, eager to understand and get the real feel of the Romanian entrepreneurial community. For 31st May, the well-crafted presentations were held by companies from Romania, Bulgaria and United States. Yes, US! Of course, before the event, we’ve made sure the pitching entrepreneurs receive adequate training: with Lucian Mindruta (Creative Marketing Manager Mediafax Group) taking care of the public speaking abilities of our speakers, and Dragos Roua (online entrepreneur and member of the VentureConnect Board) offering assistance in finding that perfect pitching structure. The investor community was extremely well represented with over 50 business angels and VCs from Romania, Bulgaria and Poland. Of course, if you could not make it for the meeting in May, we expect you in November 2012, as we are days away from setting the date for the next meeting.
